In his role, John will accelerate the commercialization of inventions being developed through Wake Forest Innovations by navigating the most efficient path to protect and advance inventions as well as negotiating win-win agreements that bring value to patients and benefit those who contributed to the invention.
“I’m tremendously excited about the opportunity to work with our team of technology innovators and commercialization experts here at Wake Forest Innovations, but also to work directly with the inventors within Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center,” said John. “The amount of knowledge and innovation that lives here at Wake Forest Baptist is exciting, and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”
John brings a depth of industry experience to the role, having spent the last five years in business development for Atex, a company that designs, develops and manufactures implantable textile components for medical devices.
He also held positions with GE Healthcare and Zimmer Patient Care, among others.
“John brings a wealth of knowledge in creating real value for new inventions in the medical device space,” said Jeff Brennan, vice president of technology innovation & commercialization at Wake Forest Innovations. “We’re excited for the skills, contacts and expertise he brings to the table and the impact he’ll have on getting our portfolio of technologies into the market.”
