Heather Ramsay, PhD, joins the Center as associate director for alliance management. In her role, she will support the Center’s mission to expedite industry access to the specialized clinical and research capabilities of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center by leading the Alliance Management team in their interactions with faculty, staff and industry sponsors.
Ramsay has a unique blend of experience. She earned her doctorate in biological anthropology at the University of Missouri-Columbia and worked as faculty at Temple University. She also has experience working with industry as a study director, principal investigator and scientific director for several contract research organizations, including MPI Research, MDS Pharma Services and Numira. These experiences will help her develop unique relationships between academia and industry to create opportunities for fruitful collaboration.
Erica Hale also joins the alliance management team of the Center for Industry Research Collaboration as project manager. In this role, she will coordinate and support industry-funded clinical research conducted by Wake Forest Baptist investigators. She earned her master’s degree in health and exercise science from Wake Forest University.
Hale brings 15 years of clinical trials experience to her role, having spent time in both clinical trials management and research. She has held several positions within Wake Forest Baptist, including work as a research associate and project manager for Public Health Sciences. In these positions, she assisted a wide range of faculty with grant writing, budget development, manuscript writing and project management. Her passion is helping faculty make new discoveries and navigate the clinical trials process.
