U.S. News & World Report Rankings Puts Wake Forest Baptist Among Nation’s Top Medical Centers

With its recent national U.S. News & World Report rankings in 12 of 16 medical specialties, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center joins an elite group—fewer than 0.5 percent of the 4,806 hospitals surveyed.

The U.S. News & World Report rankings place Wake Forest Baptist in the company of major innovators in research and clinical treatment such as Johns Hopkins Hospital, the Mayo Clinic and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Wake Forest Baptist Specialties Recognized by U.S. News & World Report Rankings

Nephrology: Ranked No. 9 in the country, Wake Forest Baptist performs groundbreaking genomics research on kidney disease, operates the largest network of academic-operated dialysis centers in the nation and is one of the nation’s top transplant centers.

Cancer: The Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of 41 recognized by the National Cancer Institute and conducts biomedical research and clinical trials across seven states.

Pulmonology: A leader in critical care and airways diseases research and clinical practice, with several multimillion-dollar grants in asthma, aging, and allergy and infectious disease research.

Ear, Nose & Throat: Offers advanced diagnostic techniques and therapies to treat common and complex disorders with innovative, multidisciplinary approaches. The Center for Voice and Swallowing Disorders offers treatment and research in laryngology, speech pathology, neurology, gastroenterology and vocal pedagogy.
